Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki are powered up as they prepare for their most devastating fight yet in a new poster for My Hero Academia season 6. The series is adapted by Studio Bones from Kohei Horikoshi’s hit Shonen Jump manga. The series’ next season was announced in a teaser in September, but an air date has not been revealed yet.
My Hero Academia season 5 aired from March 2021 to September 2021, adapting the “Joint Training” arc, “Endeavor Agency” arc, and “My Villain Academia” arc. The season saw Deku discover a new secret about his Quirk, “One for All,” take part in joint training exercises with the other classes of UA, and work alongside the new number one hero, Endeavor. Meanwhile, Shigaraki and the League of Villains accumulate more power, with the troubled young villain becoming the Grand Commander of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Though the recent film My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission’ features an original story, season 6 promises to continue the manga’s storyline, adapting the brutal “Paranormal Liberation War” arc, with a recently released poster teasing the confrontation between the series’ 2 key characters.
Posted by the My Hero Academia anime’s Japanese Twitter account, the visual features portraits of both Deku and Shigaraki side by side, empowered and energized by their respective quirks, staring forward with intense glares. The headlines feature quotes from each character, as Deku vows to stop Shigaraki, while the villain promises destruction. The poster was uploaded alongside a caption teasing the colossal scale of the war featured in the upcoming arc. Check out the poster below.
The upcoming “Paranormal Liberation War” arc sees the heroes assemble to finally take on the Paranormal Liberation Front thanks to numerous sources and tip-offs, leading to a large-scale, brutal battle. The arc results in the deaths of key characters, as well as bombshells about characters such as Kurogiri, Hawks, and Dabi being revealed. Deku and Shigaraki are also left changed by the experience, with the former leaving UA to continue on his own journey without risking his friend’s lives, as the latter continues to be manipulated by All-Might’s nemesis, One for All.
My Hero Academia season 6 promises to be the anime’s most brutal, explosive arc yet, with episodes 107 and 113 from season 5 kicking off the story by exploring the origins of Kurogiri. The arc was a major turning point for the series, pushing the characters to their limits and answering many previously unexplored questions. However, with season 5 causing concern due to certain bloody scenes being edited for TV broadcast, some fans may be wary of the studio’s handling of the arc’s conflict. However, it is certain that fans are excited for some of the series’ largest, most shocking battles yet.
