Student stabbed at Montgomery Blair High School parking lot in Maryland

Students at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring are sheltering in place following the stabbing of a student in the school’s parking lot, according to media reports.

Montgomery County Police said a male student was stabbed by another male student near the school Monday morning and suffered multiple wounds that are not life-threatening, NBC Washington reported. The stabbing resulted from a fight that happened at about 10 a.m.

Both boys involved in the fight attend the school, WTOP reported, citing Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Shiera Goff. Police are searching for a suspect.

Principal Renay Johnson tweeted that students and staff are safe in the building. She added she is working with county police and school security and will send a letter to the school community as soon as possible.

“Students are having lunch inside the building. MC Police are still in our building,” she tweeted late Monday morning. “Our doors are being monitored by personnel. I will update you as more information becomes available.”
