No paycheques for London hospital staffers today after unexplained ‘delay in payroll deposits’ | CBC News

Some employees at the London Health Sciences Centre, which includes Victoria and University hospitals, didn’t get their paycheques this morning like they were supposed to.
It’s unclear how many of the nearly 15,000 people who work at the hospital network, the largest in the region, didn’t get paid.
CBC News has spoken to administrative staff as well as nurses and other health professionals who say they didn’t get paid. We have reached out to the hospital and will update this story when we hear back.
An internal memo to staff doesn’t explain why the payments didn’t get through.
“Please be advised there was a delay in employee payments being deposited this morning,” the email from Andrew Pearson, the director of employee services, states. “Human Resources and Finance are aware of the situation and are working to resolve it as soon as possible.”
The memo also apologizes to employees for the inconvenience of not getting paid.
