The NHTSA has directed dealers to address this safety issue by replacing the 12-volt battery cable without any cost to the vehicle owners. In a proactive measure to ensure public safety, this corrective action is aimed at preventing the cable from short-circuiting or overheating during a collision, mitigating the associated risks.
To inform affected vehicle owners of this safety recall, notification letters are scheduled to be mailed out starting January 29.
