Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have welcomed another addition to their family! The couple, who tied the knot in January 2015, recently announced the birth of their second child together. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Diaz, 51, and Madden, 45, introduced their son, Cardinal Madden, to the world.
“We are overjoyed to share the news of our son, Cardinal Madden’s arrival He has brought immense happiness into our lives, and we are thrilled to have him here! The announcement included an artistic drawing that conveyed, “A little bird whispered to me.” Diaz and Madden are also proud parents to their daughter Raddix, born on December 30, 2019. The surprise reveal garnered warm support from family members like Benji’s brother Joel Madden, who commented and Pete Wentz, who wrote, .”
Reflecting on motherhood, Diaz previously shared on GOOP’s podcast that it has shifted her perspective on aging. “It’s completely changed. I’m looking forward. I’ve got another 50 or 60 years to experience — I want to live until I’m 110, especially now that I have a young child. I believe there’s this incredible phase in your 40s where you truly appreciate your parents, and I want to experience that with her — be there for her in her 40s,” Diaz expressed.
In a conversation with Jimmy Fallon on his late-night talk show last October, Diaz praised Madden as the “ultimate dad.” “At home, he’s Benj, taking care of our child and managing his businesses, and then he steps on stage and transforms into this rockstar. It’s like, ‘Whoa, pyrotechnics!’ It’s amazing,” Diaz shared about seeing Madden perform.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy in October 2023, Diaz further gushed about Madden’s musical talents and their special moments with their daughter. “He’s incredibly creative. I’ve even suggested he should do a kids’ album because his songs are so catchy. They play in my head all day because he sings them to her, and she knows every word. It’s the most heartwarming thing ever. It’s just precious,” Diaz shared.
