Despite taking the lead on two occasions, Barcelona faced a 3-2 defeat against Club América didn’t let up and recaptured the lead before halftime when Héctor Fort’s cross found Marc Guiu, who scored at the near post. Goalkeeper Astralaga’s excellent save maintained Barcelona’s lead at halftime. In the second half, despite efforts from Ferran Torres and other changes, Quiñones scored his second for América, leveling the score at 2-2.

In the end, a late header from Henry Martín secured the victory for Club América, with keeper Kochen replacing Astralaga in the second half. The defeat marks the end of Barcelona’s 2023 campaign in the USA, and they now return to Europe for a well-deserved short break before resuming action in the New Year.
