Travis and Jason Kelce returned to their university on Thursday night to record a live episode of their podcast, “New Heights,” in front of a large audience at the Fifth Third Arena.
The live recording concluded with a surprise graduation ceremony for the football stars, who were both adorned in traditional graduation attire.
University of Cincinnati President Neville Pinto, also dressed in graduation regalia, presented the brothers with their diplomas, as reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Joining them onstage for the impromptu ceremony were their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, and UC athletic director John Cunningham.
Before receiving his diploma, Travis Kelce embraced President Pinto and then downed an entire beer while “Fight for Your Right” by The Beastie Boys played over the arena’s speakers.
Jason Kelce attended UC from 2006 to 2010, while Travis Kelce attended from 2008 to 2012. Both brothers played football for the university and shared the field for two years during their overlapping academic careers.
According to reports, Jason Kelce earned a degree in marketing but was unable to attend the commencement ceremony, while Travis Kelce completed his remaining credits and obtained a degree in interdisciplinary studies from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2022.
The Cincinnati Bearcats commemorated the occasion on social media, sharing a series of images from the event and congratulating Travis and Jason on finally receiving their diplomas in a surprise commencement ceremony.
