“Everton Faces Uncertainties with Gueye’s Injury for Clash Against Manchester United”
Idrissa Gana Gueye faces uncertainty regarding his participation in Everton’s upcoming encounter with Manchester United this weekend due to an injury. Everton, seeking a rebound after a recent defeat to West Ham United, is scheduled to face Manchester United at Old Trafford for a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

During Thursday’s pre-match press conference, manager Sean Dyche provided updates on the team’s injury status. Gueye, who missed the previous match against West Ham due to a groin injury sustained in the draw against Brighton & Hove Albion, is considered “unlikely but has a chance” to return against Manchester United.
Arnaut Danjuma, recovering from ankle ligament damage suffered against Fulham in late January, will not be available for the upcoming match. However, Dyche mentioned positive progress in Danjuma’s recovery and expressed hope for his availability in the near future.
Dyche stated, “Arnie continues to make progress but is not there yet. Gana will be unlikely – but has a chance, I’d say. There are a few other knocks and bruises, but everyone else should be alright.”
Regarding Danjuma’s potential return after a 21-day gap between games, Dyche acknowledged the possibility, stating, “There is a chance, definitely. He’s doing very well, he’s working very hard. He’s pleased with how it’s going as well, which is always a good sign when the player feels right. So, yes, we’re hopeful but we’ll see.”
Reflecting on Danjuma’s impact since joining on loan last summer, Dyche highlighted the player’s flexibility and his commitment to meeting fitness targets. Despite a serious injury setback, Danjuma remains determined to regain fitness and contribute to the team.
Dele Alli continues to be sidelined with a long-term groin injury, while Dyche announced Everton’s plans for a “working trip” to a European destination next week, providing the team with a change of scenery away from Finch Farm.
